  We've been to the Taj many times, and this was by far the best experience -- all thanks to Balvir Singh, our amazing guide. We hired both a driver and... read more guide from Taj Mahal Private Holidays, which worked out well since the two communicated seamlessly. The driver met us with a placard as soon as we stepped out of the train station, and from then on he miraculously was waiting exactly where we exited after each excursion. This was really nice for my elderly parents.

This trip was special as I brought my 9 year old son along. Balvir Singh spoke English very well, and immediately connected with my son - making the story of the Taj so engrossing and thrilling! He answered all of our questions with ease, and was professional, courteous, and flexible (we stopped to take many many photos!). We left the Taj feeling so much more knowledgeable than going in, despite reading lots about it beforehand (and seeing it previously).

After the Taj, Balvir Singh took us to an artisan craft store to see how the inlay work of the Taj was done firsthand. We followed this with lunch at ITC and then a trip to the Agra Fort. We were able to do a lot, but we never felt rushed or hurried. All in all, I'd highly recommend Balvir Singh and will be making sure to book him again as a guide the next time we come! Overall I have had a nice experience and would recommend to get a guide to understand more about Taj Mahal instead of just taking pictures.

  Words cannot explain the appreciation I have for Balvir, my tour guide and owner of this company. I met Balbir while on a business trip and had a... read more day scheduled for a private tour of the Taj mahal. Balvir met us a few miles outside of Agra; drove with us to the front gate of the Taj and from their - well he just took us from place to place, provided amazing insights into the history and made sure we were hydrated and safe. Yes, safety is a concern for many visitors, and I wasn't worried one moment - maybe when the monkey was sitting next to me, and I had no idea - but Balvir took care of ensuring I was fine.

I have traveled around the world - the TAJ is amazing and Balvir is very impressive - both as a guide and as a person - we got to learn about each other over the 8 hours - if you are looking for a trusted tour guide, I highly suggest using Balvir and his team.

Okay few things to know - drink bottled water and have extras with you (it gets hot fast). If you visit the rug store or stone store - it is okay to say "thanks but no thanks" after the pitch - if you buy something, the price is negotiable but at the end of the day are you buying the item for a deal or rather to have a piece you can relate with forever - negotiate but remember they live off what we are willing to part with.... be fair! Special call-out to the stone salesman (nice education and experience); rug store was interesting and free beer is a plus - enjoy the full experience and see the amazing work they produce (it is part of the full cultural experience if you ask me).

If you buy the photo package - get the files downloaded to your phone before you leave. How they do it is a bit odd, USB direct into your phone (it’s okay, you get all the photos in 2min and say WOW - I have this many photo's) - btw, the photo package is worth it - they know all the shots and angles you will be impressed if you use the photo guys (pay once you have everything!) - Balvir will take care of everything - you just settle up with him when you leave.

Overall - great experience, if you come for the day and bring water and snacks; be prepared to walk in the sun and be amazed by a spiritual vision and Balvir's honest and deep insights.
